Google Fiber Internet in Rancho?

Google My City

What is the "Google My City" Campaign?

RC Google My City Logo

The City of Rancho Cucamonga's "Google My City" Campaign is a community-wide effort to encourage Google, Inc. to consider selecting Rancho Cucamonga as a candidate city for its recently announced "Fiber for Communities" project.
Google is planning to launch an experiment that it hopes will make Internet access better and faster for everyone. They plan to test ultra-high speed broadband networks in one or more trial locations across the country. Google’s networks will deliver Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today, over 1 gigabit per second, fiber-to-the-home connections. Google plans to offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000 and potentially up to 500,000 people.
If Rancho Cucamonga is selected, it could have a positive impact on our community, our local economy and our quality of life. many cities are going nuts over this, even renaming their city!  Maybe we should rename our selves Rancho Googlemonga!
